As Doug W put in his BBB review, "I had a set of old family home movies on 16mm, many dating back to 1938, and the early 40's, as well as more recent (early 1960s). I did have some copies of the film on VHS tapes, but I could barely recognize the faces because the quality was so poor. These provided a useful reference with which to judge the quality of the transfer. As for the result, I was absolutely floored. I had chosen the Pro 2K process for the 16mm film, and am certainly glad that I did. The colors were well balanced, even in the 1938-1939 film. The transfer was very focused, without excessive dirt, and all faces easily recognizable and of a quality that I am happy to view. I suspect that the quality of the picture that I am viewing now is probably better than what was viewed when the film was originally developed. "
