Choose Process
One of the best ways to describe our Slide transfer processes is to
imagine that you can compare the original slide to the scanned digital image produced from
each process side by side. For example, let's say that you ordered the Bronze
process. Upon receiving the scanned images, you pull out your projector to
compare the slide to the scanned image. In the first row of the table below,
the slide is being projected onto the screen and the TV on the right is
showing the digital image from the Bronze process. You can easily see that
the original slide looks better than the digital image on the TV. This is
very typical of a low-end slide transfer service.
Now, look at the pictures from the Silver, Gold & Platinum, and you can see how
much better the image can look because of advances in slide transfer
and restoration technology.

Bronze
The Bronze 2000 DPI
(Dots Per Inch) scanned image will be 25-50% less quality than how the 35mm
slide looks today. The slide has a maximum resolution of about 4000 DPI
and has degraded since it was originally taken. This
process is intended for the customer that generally want a low-cost
scan of their slides for a
DVD TV slide
show. The Bronze process does not
include any restoration.

Silver
The Silver 2000 DPI
(Dots Per Inch) scanned image will be similar in quality to how the
35mm slide looks today due to the Automatic Digital ROC (color,
contrast) restoration. This process is intended for the customer that generally wants prints
of their slides (up to a 5x7) and/or a better quality
DVD TV slide
show. |
 |
Gold
The Gold 3000 DPI
scanned image will be better than what the 35mm slide looks like today
due to the
Manual color, contrast, scratch and grain restoration (also crop
& rotate as needed). This process is
intended for the customer that wants high quality prints of their
slides (up to a 8x10) and/or a good quality
DVD TV slide
show. |
 |
Platinum
The Platinum 4000 DPI
scanned image will be the best possible result from the 35mm slide. The
Platinum
process includes
Manual color, contrast, scratch and grain restoration
(also crop & rotate
as needed). This process is
intended for the customer that wants the very best quality for prints
of their slides (up to a 10x14) and/or the best quality
DVD TV slide
show. |
*Quality of restoration is dependent upon
condition of existing slide stock; severely deteriorated original
materials may be beyond the reach of even the most sophisticated
restoration methods. Refunds are only given if a competitor can obtain
better quality (defined by clarity, color, graininess and scratches) for
a similar price (within 10% of ours). Under these fair terms, we've
never had to give a refund.
