We've had many customers from New Orleans and they have all been extremely happy with our high quality film transfer services. We do a wide range of film scanning from amateur 8mm and Super 8 film to Government archives to 16mm and 35mm Hollywood Independent Movies. Our niche is high quality, not high volume. So, if you are looking for best film to DVD quality and the personal attention your film deserves, you found it. At one point we used to be located in several stores throughout the United States. Because we buy the best film scanners and because they are over $100,000 each, we have had to centralize our film scanning service to our largest lab which is in Chandler, Arizona. We not only service customers in the United States but also in Europe and Asia as well. We offer the highest quality film scanning in the world.
Film shrinks over the decades, So running your film today through a projector or film transfer machine thats uses the sprocket holes will damage the film. We get several calls a day about people damaging their film by trying to run it through a projector. Same goes for these low-end film transfer machines used by local camera and conversion shops and even big box stores like Walmart, Costco and Walgreens. Make sure your film is scanned on a sprocket-less roller based film scanner (like our Pro HD, Pro 2k or Pro 4k process)!
Luckily Video Conversion Experts can help. Damaged sprocket holes? Shrunk film? No problem. These professional film scanners (Pro HD and above) are roller based so they don't use the sprocket holes and have laser frame alignment to get 100% of the frame no matter how shrunk it it.

Most customers transfer their 8mm film to DVD or BluRay. Some want both. Many times there are some family members that only have a DVD player while others have moved up to BluRay. BluRay has twice the resolution, so we do recommend BluRay but sometimes you may need a DVD for those other members of your family that only have a DVD player. We can transfer 8mm film to DVD, AVI files, Blu-Ray, HD-AVI, ProRes 422 and DPX. We can transfer Super 8 film to DVD, AVI files, Blu-Ray, HD-AVI, ProRes 422 and DPX. If you are looking for the best 8mm film conversion, then you found the best company that can give you the best quality.
There are many options and price points for our New Orleans customers. There are labs at the bottom like Costco, Walmart and Walgreens (who all send it out to a third party company) to labs at the top like Video Conversion Experts that does it all in house creates much of our own technology. Like most things, pricing usually follows the quality. So, poor quality is the cheapest and the best quality is the most expensive. The good thing about Video Conversion Experts is that we charge middle of the road pricing for the best quality. Just compare us to any professional lab in NY or LA and you will see that we charge a very low price for high quality.
Our Pro 2K 8mm film transfer service for our New Orleans customers is designed to get all of the details from a 8mm film to DVD transfer for our New Orleans customers. So, if you are looking for the best quality we suggest the Pro 2K process. If you are looking for pretty good quality then we suggest the Pro HD process. The Pro 2K will create video that is about 30% sharper compared to the Pro HD.
We are 1 of just a few labs in the United States that can scan 8mm and Super 8 at 1556 lines (2K). Is it absolutely necessary? No. If you want the very best quality that technology can offer, then yes. We scan 8mm and super 8 film at 2K resolution for many of our amateurs in New Orleans, semi professional and professional film labs.
New Orleans Fun Facts: The city was founded in 1718 and named for the regent of France, Philippe II, duc d'Orleans. The area was alternately under French and Spanish rule until being sold to the US by France as part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. New Orleans was the site of battles during the War of 1812 and the Civil War. The blending of French, Spanish and African influences created the Creole society and cuisine for which New Orleans is famous.
